Disease and pest indicators: a turning point for your agronomic problems
• 3 min read
To optimally protect your crops, it is essential to anticipate the development of diseases and pests. Sencrop provides you with precision tools: disease risk indicators and the possibility of connecting your local weather data to your decision support tools (DST), depending on your crop type. Overview of the indicators available in the application:
Each crop is subject to various diseases and pest risks. These risks develop mainly through numerous meteorological factors at an ultra-local level. The application already allowed you to visualise the meteorological data crucial to anticipating the risks, as well as setting up alerts to act at the correct time. Sencrop has now gone the extra mile in helping farmers manage their disease and pest risks, which is essential to maximising yields.
How to anticipate the appearance of diseases or pests?
With the 'Crops' tab, the Sencrop application offers a detailed view of the agronomic indicators available for your crop on a single screen. In addition, more and more DSTs (Decision Support Tools) can be fed with local weather data from your Sencrop weather stations.

DST and disease indicators: an aid to daily decision making
DST are paying tools developed by recognised agricultural institutes. They enable the analysis of a situation, the adjustment of interventions or the definition of strategic choices. This is thanks to advice on actions to be taken, according to the detected risks. The advice given can be consulted outside the application, on the supplier's support and integrates the local weather data from the farmer's Sencrop stations.
A In contrast to a DST, an agronomic indicator is integrated directly into the application. It is accessible, like other indicators, directly in the "Crop" tab and provides predictive information on the risks incurred by crops and their development. The information is presented in a simple and intuitive way. The farmer can then decide to take action himself or contact an agricultural technician or agronomist.
DST's & growing stages are available in the Pro plan, whilst the Plus plan includes DST access & agronomic indicators. These risk indicators change the game by simplifying the visualisation of your risks on a single platform, in addition to your DST. For each crop, they are accessible directly from the 'Crops' view, by plot.
